Pride in Craftsmanship
Product quality and customer satisfaction are our priorities. Our commitment to quality control begins with using virgin vinyl in the production of our windows, increasing both stability and consistency. We also support each of our products with advanced Super Saver materials and incorporate the use of four-point welders (opposed to two-point) in the majority of our windows to square the components and enhance operation.

Part of what enables Thermo-Twin to deliver consistent, top-of-the-line products is our computer automation process. From start to finish, the manufacturing of our windows is regulated. Each piece of equipment is expertly calibrated and activated to regulate production, from assembly to scanning and tagging. We take care to conduct quality checks throughout the entire process to ensure that you receive our best work and affix a National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) quality label affirming that there are no chips, cracks or imperfections.

Thermo-Twin is 100% employee-owned and operated, so each of our team members has a stake in the company, something to call their own. But why is employee ownership so important to us? One word: pride. In working for ourselves and for one another, we take greater pride in everything we do, from workmanship—our individual efforts and contributions—to craftsmanship—the quality of the products we create for our customers. Because each of us is so close to what we do, work is not just the average 9 to 5; we have a strong motivation to do right by our customers and to produce the highest quality products.

Locally Manufactured
Thermo-Twin not only calls Pittsburgh, PA “home,” but every one of our windows is created here. From our Oakmont, PA facilities, we individually craft each window that comes through our assembly line. Thermo-Twin windows are not only made in the USA, they’re made in Pittsburgh. Customers reap the benefits, with orders being quickly and conveniently manufactured, delivered and installed.

Professionally Installed
When we install our products, we take the greatest care possible. In handling new windows and maneuvering around each home we visit, our installers use caution in maintaining a clean space and protecting personal property. After an installation is complete, we leave homes looking both beautiful and clean.

Thermo-Twin History

Founded in 1972 in New Kensington, PA, Thermo-Twin’s core business was supplying window manufacturers with insulated glass units. In 1974, business expanded into general home remodeling and we began manufacturing our own windows, using frames and sashes produced by various suppliers.
In 1981, our Company began selling windows under the trade name, Thermo-Twin Industries, Inc. and moved from its original location to a 55,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Oakmont, PA. This allowed for additional growth and for the window and glass operations to be housed together. In 1987, Thermo-Twin began manufacturing windows using vinyl extrusions.
1989 was a defining year for Thermo Twin. This is the year that our Company became Employee-Owned! Through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, the employees purchased the company from its original owner.
In 1997, the Technology Council named Thermo-Twin among the fastest growing technological companies in the region, and in 1998, the Pittsburgh Business Times recognized Thermo-Twin as one of the area’s 100 fastest growing companies.
In 2000, Thermo-Twin became the first company in North America to purchase and install the fully automated “Super Spacer®” glass line. This space–aged technology helps reduce condensation and makes window systems that are quieter and more energy efficient than those with traditional metal spacers.
Thermo-Twin achieved another milestone in 2004, by offering customers state-of-the-art patio room enclosures.
In 2005, Qualified Remodelers Magazine listed Thermo-Twin 59th of the top 500 remodeling companies in the country.
In 2006, Qualified Remodelers Magazine listed Thermo-Twin 45th of the top 500 remodeling companies in the country and 35th in the top 200 specialty remodeling companies in the country.
In 2007, Thermo-Twin was listed in The Top 100 Manufacturers by Window & Door Magazine.
During 2008 & 2009, Thermo-Twin Industries, Inc. overhauled its vinyl window lines to welded frames with optional welded sashes.
Today, Thermo-Twin’s employee owners continue to lead the industry in manufacturing and installing the best windows, doors, sunrooms and siding.
